DC attorney general called to testify before House Oversight Committee

D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb is scheduled to testify before the powerful House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Chairman James Comer requested that Schwalb testify at a hearing on Sept. 16, multiple sources familiar with the hearing tell News4.

No details were provided about the topics of the hearing. Schwalb appears to be the only D.C. official asked to testify.

Comer recently inserted himself in the Commanders stadium deal, urging D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson to expedite a vote by the Council.

Schwab oversees numerous legal issues for the District, including prosecuting juvenile offenders.

Neither Comer nor Schwalb’s office would comment to News4.
