A woman was shot and killed by her husband Sunday night in Fair Oaks, Virginia, police said.
Police received a 911 call at 10:21 p.m. from the 12000 block of Washington Brice Road, and the dispatcher reportedly heard sounds of a disturbance in the background of the call, police said. The line then disconnected.
A second 911 call was received at 10:39 p.m.
When officers arrived at the house, they found Chisen Jameson, 60, inside with gunshot wounds to her upper body. She was declared dead on scene.
Detectives said Jameson’s husband, Leland Jameson, 60, shot his wife inside the house. Police arrested him and charged him with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held without bond at Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
“Detectives continue to conduct interviews and process evidence recovered from the scene to determine the circumstances that led up to the fatal shooting,” police said in a press release. They ask anyone with relevant information to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477 or submit a tip online.
