A nine-day Amtrak service outage in mid-October could affect riders who travel between Union Station, Alexandria and points south.
Part of the rail that guides trains to certain tracks, known as interlocking, needs to be replaced between Oct. 16 and Oct. 26, Amtrak said.
Some riders may have to catch a bus to places like Alexandria, Richmond and Roanoke.
