A man is seriously hurt after he was shot in downtown Silver Spring on Friday afternoon, authorities say.
The man was found with critical injuries near Richmond Avenue and Fenton Street. Montgomery County police were dispatched to the area at about 2:05 p.m. The man was taken to a hospital.
News4 video shows a large police response.
No suspects were immediately taken into custody, said police, who called the scene “secure.” No information was immediately released on who opened fire or why.
