Motorcycle club delivers Christmas cheer to family of fallen police officer

A Maryland motorcycle club took its tradition of spreading Christmas cheer to families of fallen first responders to a mother and daughter on Christmas Eve.

The Flaming Knights Motorcycle Club’s annual No Kids Left Behind, No Wish Left Undone initiative helps families who’ve lost a loved one experience the joy of Christmas.

“The message is giving and the magic of giving, but more than that, you know, for the children,” said Roc of the Flaming Knights.

On Christmas Eve, the club visited the family of Cpl. Myron Young, who served 18-and-a-half years in the Prince George’s County Police Department before he died in October 2022.

Young’s daughter, Maddie, and her mother, Crystal, have a special bond especially after the family lost their father and husband.

“We were really close, and I’m really happy that I got the 12 years with him,” Maddie said.

“He was the person you called at 2 in the morning when you needed anything, and he would not hesitate to do that,” Crystal Young said. “That is not the person you expect to suffer from depression and mental health to a point of taking his life.”

After hearing about the family’s story and Maddie’s academic accolades, the Flaming Knights gave her much needed items to help her maintain straight As in school.

“My other stuff has been broken for a little bit … it’s nice to have something new that I didn’t expect,” Maddie said.

“Christmas is a season for kids to be happy, and because her dad, their situation with the family and her dad being deceased, we want to try to cheer them up a little bit,” Roc said.

Which they accomplished. “The way that God has blessed us, we were blessed today because of this,” Crystal said.
