All lanes are closed on southbound I-295 in Southeast D.C. just after Benning Road due to a car crash early Monday morning, according to officials.
Police say the crash happened at about 3 a.m. on the southbound side near Pennsylvania Avenue.
All southbound lanes are closed between Pennsylvania Avenue and East Capitol Street while crews investigate the crash.
One northbound lane is also closed due to the crash.
It is not yet clear what led to the crash.
