A Temple Hills man is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend on the Fourth of July.
Prince George’s County police charged Terrence Penn Jr., 31, in the killing of Dakota Keys, 31, of Capitol Heights.
Police called the murder “domestic-related.”
Police responded to a report of a shooting on the 1900 block of Brooks Drive on Saturday around 10 p.m. and found Keys inside of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect fled after the shooting, according to police, but turned himself in shortly after.
He is charged with first and second degree murder and is being held on a no bond status, police said.
