4 things to know about the weather:

Strong storms swept through the DMV last night, with heavy downpours and dangerous winds. We’re not done with the storms just yet, as we’re going to have more on Monday.

While we’re getting a break from the sweltering heat from last week, it’ll still be a very muggy day. Temperatures get close to 90 degrees Monday afternoon with clouds.
We’ll see daily chances of pop-up showers and storms, not only Monday, but for the next several days as an area of low pressure moves through.

If anybody’s going to be heading down to the National Mall for the FIFA viewing parties on the National Mall, you might be dealing with and contending with some heavy showers and downpours, and possibilities of some dangerous lightning as well. In some areas, there could be flooding too.
Showers are likely again in the forecast on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The good news? Expect no real high heat for a little bit.
