An injured man was found inside Springfield Town Center in Northern Virginia after police responded to a reported shooting late Friday afternoon.
Fairfax County Police were called to the mall in Springfield shortly after 5:30 p.m. Officers found a man inside with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said. He was taken to a hospital.
A suspect is in custody. The scene is secure and there is no further threat at the shopping center, police said.
There was no information yet on what may have led up to the reported shooting. It wasn’t immediately known if the incident happened inside the mall or if the victim ran in for help.
Police said a gun has been recovered at the scene.
