Two adults killed, two children hurt in Chain Bridge Road crash

Two adults died and two children were hurt in a single-vehicle crash very early Sunday in Oakton, Virginia.

The woman who was driving was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) over I-66, Fairfax County police said. An adult passenger, a man, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died, police said.

Two children from the car were hurt, including one whose injuries were considered life-threatening, police said. They were taken to a hospital. There was no update available on their conditions Monday.

It wasn’t immediately clear what may have led to the crash.

Route 123 was shut down in both directions as crash reconstruction detectives investigated.

The victims’ names have not been released yet.
