A man was shot and killed late Wednesday night at an apartment complex in Alexandria, according to police.
The first call to 911 was about a dispute in the parking lot of ParcView Apartments after 11 p.m. In the dispatch call, the dispatcher said the caller reported they heard a woman yelling “Why are you hitting me?” The caller also said the woman was being led away somewhere by a man.
Minutes later, another call to 911 reported that a man was found shot. Police responded to the 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway at about 11:14 p.m. and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite lifesaving measures from police, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police took a man and woman into custody. It is not yet clear if they are considered suspects.
Police towed a black car from the parking lot as evidence and are investigating what led to the shooting.
