One person, believed to be a teenager, was found shot near the Tenleytown CVS on Thursday afternoon, D.C. Police and D.C. Fire and EMS said.
Police officers and first responders arrived to the 4500 block of Wisconsin Ave. NW around 4:30 p.m. in response to calls about a shooting in the area.
They found one person with gunshot wounds near in an area behind the CVS pharmacy. The identity and exact age of that person are not yet known, but police believe it was a teenager.
That person was taken by ambulance to a hospital. News4 saw that ambulance leaving the parking lot behind the pharmacy via an alley.
The shooting happened during a busy time of day near Jackson-Reed High School and American University.
The investigation is ongoing.
