Loved ones honor DC mother shot, killed in Temple Hills

Marching through the streets of D.C., Juanita Frazier’s loved ones had a message: “Put the guns down, let love lead,” they chanted.

They said the peace walk was dedicated to the D.C. mother who loved her three kids and helping those who were near and dear to her heart.

“If she had one pack of noodles, you would eat it with her,” said her cousin, Dionne Milli. “She was very kind, sweet, caring, very beautiful, Black, intelligent.”

Loved ones, along with close friends, showing up to lead with love in the midst of heartbreak at the Northwest D.C. vigil, emotions on full display almost two weeks after Frazier’s body was discovered in Oxon Run Community Park in Temple Hills, Maryland.

“It just happened so suddenly,” said her sister, Tamika Frazier. “[…] That was my only sister, you know, I don’t have any other siblings.”

Prince George’s County police say Frazier was shot and killed in the parking lot last Tuesday. Investigators say they’re looking for a suspect.

Saturday night’s candlelight vigil left many in tears and while they leaned on the memories made with the D.C. native.

Family members say they plan to step up for Frazier’s three daughters, who are all struggling with the fact their mother is no longer here.

“People want to show their respects to the family and show up and show love and care and make sure her three children that she left behind are cared for,” Milli said.

Prince George’s County police are offering a $25,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Prince George’s County police.
